COLEMAN was born at Bloomington, Ill., June 13, 1841, and came to Wisconsin with the family. In 1861 he enlisted in Co. D., 10th Wisconsin Vols. He was severely wounded in the head (at the battle of Perryville, we believe) from the effects of which he never fully recovered. He has resided at Durand for many years and was highly respected and esteemed. He has served one term as sheriff of Pepin county, making an efficient officer. He leaves a wife and seven children to mourn their sudden bereavement. With the veteran soldiers, CHARLEY COLEMAN was al- ways a great favorite, and never failed to attend their reunions, which he enjoyed with the keenest zest. Transcriber's Note: CHARLES G. COLEMAN, Deputy Sheriff, Pepin County, WI., killed in the line of duty July 10, 1881. ===========================================================================
