JOSEPH KANECK, a laborer employed by the Forrestal Bros., while engaged in laying water-pipe in a sewer at the corner of Western avenue and Clybourn street, had a narrow escape from death at 10 a.m. today. While in the trench, which is five feet deep, the side caved in on him, burying him from sight. As- sistance soon reached and rescued him, when it was found he had received se- vere bruises on the breast and shoulders. He was taken to Emergency hospital for treatment. His home is at the corner of Lincoln and Twelfth avenues, and his age is 37 years. ==========================================================================
