Friday, 10 August 1883 A young son, aged about four years, of H. GOEDKE, of Ahnapee town, was drowned near his father's place in a very singular manner last Saturday. The boy was at play near a large hole, which had been dug for a well and which, on account of the heavy rains of late was filled with water, and accidently stumbling fell in and before assistance reached him was drowned. The funeral of the unfortunate lad took place Monday. [Transcriber's Note: his name was Wilhelm] ---------------------------------------------------- (in another column) From the Record: A boy about 4 or 5 years of age, the son of HENRY GAEDKE of the town of Ahnapee, was drowned in a swale near his father's house last Sunday. The lad was play- ing on some logs which were floating about on the shal- low pool, and fell into the water. ===========================================================================
