         MATTHIAS ZIMMERMAN, aged 49 died in Ahnapee on
       the 14th. Deceased had been a resident of that
       place since 1864. He was possessed of more than
       the ordinary measure of native ability, and the
       uniform kindness of his demeanor had won the es-
       teem of all. The demon of intemperance became
       his master and caused his untimely death.
       
         CHARLES, aged 19, son of Mr. and Mrs. JOHN 
       JONAS, died in Ahnapee, Jan. 17, of typhoid
       fever.
