              MRS. HIRAM HAYES Passes Away in South.
              
              MRS. HIRAM HAYES, a resident of Superior for
            more than half a century, died suddenly Wednes-
            day night in San Antonio, Texas, where she and
            COLONEL HAYES were spending a short time, ac-
            cording to a message received here yesterday
            by her son, FRANK HAYES of the East End.
              The telegram was from COLONEL HAYES and was
            to the effect that the body would be brought to
            Superior, arriving here Monday.
              Is (sic) there is not unexpected delay in the
            arrival of the funeral party the funeral will
            be held Tuesday afternoon from the Episcopal
            Church of the Redeemer, John avenue and West
            fourth street, East End.
              MRS. HAYES, who was about 68 years of ages,
            and resided in Superior since before the war,
            when she came west with her sister, who is now
            MRS. H. M. PEYTON, of Duluth, afterward marry-
            ing HIRAM HAYES. She was born in Syracuse, N.Y.,
            and spent her tender years there.
              The message telling of MRS. HAYES' death did
            not state the cause. She had not been well for
            some time but when she and COLONEL HAYES left
            Superior about two weeks ago for a trip to the
            southwest, she was apparently enjoying good
            health, so the news of her death came unex-
            pectedly.
