Thursday, 25 May, 1899

         Chilton, Wis., May 22 [Special] -
         NICHOLAUS KNAUF died after an illness of ten
       days, aged 60 years. Mr. KNAUF was born in Treves,
       Germany, and came to Wisconsin in 1847, settling
       in Sheboygan county. From there he went to Bril-
       lion, engaging in mercantile business. For eight-
       een past he has lived in Chilton, where he has
       been a highly respected citizen. Eight children
       survive him.
