Saturday Evening, 22 July 1893 JEREMIAH HUNT, one of Menasha's pioneer settlers, died at his home in Brillion Tuesday. Mr. HUNT came to this city in 1848 and resided here for many years thereafter. He was the father of the first white child born in Menasha - LYDIA M. HUNT, now Mrs. GEO. WELLS, of Brillion. Mr. HUNT was also the first super- visor the villag had, being elected in 1855. The fol- lowing year he was chosen sheriff of Winnebago county. The death of this distinguished pioneer will recall many memories of the long age to the old settlers of Menasha. Some years after removing from this city Mr. HUNT conducted a general store at Forest Junction. The funeral was held at Brillion Thursday. ===========================================================================
