The West Bend Republican
Friday, 6 November, 1874

         A man by the name of LORENZ HAZELBAUER, a resident
       of Hayton, was on the mixed train going north on the
       Wisconsin Central Railroad recently. At Kiel he tried
       to get off while the cars were in motion, and slipped
       under the cars and was run over and had both of his
       legs cut off. He died in a short time. He was under
       the influence of liquor at the time.
