West Bend News
Wednesday, 17 January, 1894

         News was received here that the father of
       Mr. JOHN DUERNBERGER, died at his home it the
       town of Brillion, Calumet county, last week
       Wednesday, aged 87 years. Mr. DUERNBERGER, SR.,
       had an attack of the grippe, which terminated
       fatally after he was confined to his bed several
       weeks. Deceased was a native of Bavaria, and
       came to this country in 1840; spent 14 years
       in the city of New York and then removed to
       this county, locating on a farm near Cedar
       Creek, where he remained 13 years. In 1867 he
       moved to the town of Brillion, Calumet Co.,
       where he remained until his death. He leaves
       five children - 3 sons and 2 daughters - to
       mourn his loss, namely: - JOHN, of this city,
       CHRIST, of Wausau, HENRY, of Brillion, Mrs.
       MARY FISCHER of this city, and Mrs. CATHERINE
       GRUENER, of town Polk. May he rest in peace.
