Sheboygan, WI
Thursday, 17 January, 1889

         JOSEPH BURCKLE, well known in this city, died at his
       home in Hayton, Calumet Co., the 11th inst., aged 63
       years. Deceased settled in Sheboygan county about 42
       years ago, locating in the Town of Herman where, for
       a number of years he conducted a farm, and afterwards
       a store on line of the Calumet plank road in the same
       Town. He has been troubled with rheumatism for a num-
       ber of years, also had two strokes of paralysis, and
       for two years has been unable to speak. A wife and two
       children survive him. The funeral was conducted under
       the auspices of the Odd Fellows lodge of Chilton, de-
       ceased being a member of the lodge in this city.
