D. FOWLER, Esq., of Brothertown, that on Sunday morning last a female child, about eleven months old, belonging to SARAH SIMONS of that town, was found alone, in her mother's shanty, frozen to death. It seems that on the Monday morn- ing previous SARAH left her baby and two other children, a boy and a girl, the boy being only eight and the girl ten years old, for the purpose, as she said, of going to work for a neighbor. There was very little food in the house and the older children getting hungry went to some of the neigh- bors and begged for something to eat. When asked where the baby was they replied that "mother had taken her with her." On Sunday morning some per- sons while going by the shanty, noticed that the fire was out, and thinking something was the mat- ter went in and found the baby dead, and the other children absent. SARAH is rather a dissolute character, and it is supposed she went on a spree, and forgot all about her infant until too late. ===========================================================================
