         Sherwood is a station on the Menasha branch of the
       Wisconsin Central line, and is quite an important ship-
       ping point for staves, bolts, wagon timber, etc. The 
       village is located about half a mile south of the station 
       on the mili tary road. It contains several stores, two 
       hotels, a church, small saw-mill, and stave factory.
