It is the shipping point for this portion of the county, and timber and bricks in quantity are annually shipped across the lake. B. F. CARTER and COOK, BROWN & Co. have quite exten- sive brick yards. The former is one of the leading men of the county, having represented it in the Legistature several times. A. H. HART was the first permanent settler at Clifton. In the Fall of 1852 RUSSELL PRATT became a resident. ===========================================================================
