H. Holst, New Holstein. Born in Sheboygan Co., Wis., May 23, 1860. His parents had settled there in 1850, town of Russell, and his father still lives on the old homestead. He had attended the school where his present employer taught. He went to Chilton and apprenticed himself to George Schleyer of the Volksbote press, but re- turned home, where he stayed till November of 1877, when he enteered the employ of C. H. Holst as clerk.
