R. J. NEEDHAM, wagon factory, Stockbridge. Born in Wayne Co., N.Y., March 8, 1828. He remained in his native county for nine years, and then went to Onondaga County, where he learned the trade of wagonmaker. He came to Wis- consin, and located in Calumet County, in 1850. He then went on a trip through the Southern States, and, returning in 1861, enlisted in the 4th Wis. V. I., but was transferred to the cavalry in 1863. He was mustered out a captain in 1865. On leaving the service, he returned to Stockbridge, and once more resumed business. He has held the office of Chairman of the Town, and was Treasurer for some four years. He is a member of the I. O.
