M. MERRILL, M.D., Stockbridge. Born in Medina Co., Ohio, April 16, 1837. He came to Calumet Co., in 1851, and went to farming in the town of Chilton. He enlisted, in 1861, in the 4th Wis. V. I.; was mustered out in 1864, and returned to Chilton; but, in 1865, sold his ?arm, and began the study of medicine with Dr. La Counte. He attended the Chicago Medical College in 1867-8 and 1868-9, and then returned to Stockbridge and began practice. He opened a drug store in 1874, but sold it in 1880. In 1856, he married Miss JENNIE THOMPSON, of Stock- bridge. They have five boys - FRED WILLIAM, FRANK D., CHARLES W., JOHN E. and PARK E. Dr. MERRILL belongs to the I. O. O. F., and is a member of the Baptist Church. ===========================================================================
