Born in Norway, in 1814. He emigrated to America in 1840, and remained in New York for five years, employed at sail making, which was his trade. He then moved to Racine Co., Wis., where he was employed rigging vessels, and in a mill. In 1852, he went to Depere, and in 1860 moved to Calumet County, and went to farming, taking the post-office in 1867. In 1842, he married Miss HANNAN GOODER. They had nine children, five now living. He lost his wife in 1881. Mr. JOHNSON belongs to the Lutheran Church. ===========================================================================
