ALLEN HILL of Mondovi, away back last May. MRS. HILL, accompanied by her granddaughter, MYRTLE GILBERT, also of Mondovi, left to visit the former's son, EDWARD HILL, at his farm ten miles north of Hayward, Wis., on the last day of May. Reaching Hayward, the couple en- gaged an auto and drove to the HILL farm. MRS. HILL stopped here, and MISS GILBERT returned with the auto to Hayward where she left on a northbound train to visit relatives in the northern part of the state. Since stepping from the auto livery at the HILL farm until now, nothing has been seen or heard of MRS. HILL. It appears that no one was in the house when MRS. HILL arrived, all were at work in a field near by. Local authorities are trying to solve the mystery. A reward of $400 is offered for information leading to clearing up the mystery. MRS. HILL, who was an elderly lady, being over seventy- five years old, had lived in Mondovi for many years. She was respected by all who knew her. She had acquired con- siderable property which will be probated in the courts of Alma soon. The John Sather detective agency is working on the case. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Waupun Leader Thursday, 7 February, 1918 Eau Claire - A reward of $500 has just been offered for information leading to the discovery of the where- abouts, alive or dead, of MRS.
