         Fountain City, Wis., Sept. 12. - GUSTAVE HOORST
       discharged the contents of a shotgun into the head
       of an old man named WM. SASS at Buffalo City, about
       twelve miles from here, causing almost instant death.
       The two men had had quarrels, and HOORST has several
       times shown signs of an unsound mind. The murderer
       afterward defied about fifty men with his gun, and
       at last reports had not been captured.
