Cooper, Jr. & Co., Winona, MN - 1919 [page 176] MAURICE JAMES POWERS, born Oct. 25, 1869, acquired the elements of knowledge in the schools of Maxville township and has resided all his life on the home farm, which his father in time turned over to him. He has made a number of improvements on the place, and raises Hereford cattle, Poland-China hogs, Oxford sheep and Per- cheron horses, doing a profitable business as a farmer. He also holds shares in the Burnside Creamery and the Farmers Telephone Company. For public office he has never cared. In 1899 he married ANNA PALZER, a native of Austria. ===========================================================================
