Cooper, Jr. & Co., Winona, MN - 1919 [page 169] WILLIAM PANSCHOW, who is engaged in agriculture, stock raising and dairying in Belvidere township, Oct. 21, 1869, son of WILLIAM SR., and FREDERICKA (SCHULTZ) PANSCHOW. The parents, who were born in Germany, after coming to the United States, located in Belvidere township, Buffalo county, Wisconsin. They had a family of eight children: CHARLES, MINNIE, RICA, RUDOLPH, WILLIAM, MARY, IDA and ANNA. WILLIAM, JR., was engaged in as- sisting his father until arriving at the age of 21 years, when other arrangements were made, and for three years thereafter he worked for his father for stipulated wages. He then rented the farm for two years, after which he worked as a farm hand for others, being thus occupied for fifteen years, or until July 25, 1902, when he bought the home farm and has since been engaged in its improvement and cultivation. It contains 171 acres, of which area eighty acres are cleared, the rest being in woodland. MR. PANSCHOW in 1917 erected a barn 34 by 64 feet in size, with stone basement, and with a stone and tile silo attached. He operates the farm with the assistance of his son and is numbered among the progressive and successful citizens of his township. On Nov. 24, 1893, he was married to IDA KURTZWEG, who was born in Lincoln township, Dec. 26, 1872, daughter of AUGUST and MARY KURTZWEG, she being the fifth born in a family of eleven children. To Mr. and Mrs. PANSCHOW four children have been born, three of whom died in infancy. The survivor, ARTHUR, was born Aug. 23, 1895, and, as previously stated, is now his father?s assistant on the farm. MRS. PANSCHOW died Oct. 22, 1916. ===========================================================================
