Cooper, Jr. & Co., Winona, MN - 1919 [page 165-166] LEWIS OWEN, an early settler in Canton township, Buffalo county, where he was for many years an esteemed resident, was born in Montgomeryshire, Wales, and after coming to the United States was married in Buffalo, N.Y. With his wife, LYDIA, who was born near Honeton, England, he went to New Orleans, and from that city came north to Wabasha county, Minnesota, and in 1862 to Canton township, Buffalo county, Wisconsin, where he died in 1911. His wife is still living, making her home with her daughter, MRS. WILLIAM GIFFORD, of Canton township. OWEN Valley in Buffalo county derives its name from the worthy pioneer, LEWIS OWEN. ===========================================================================
