H. C. Cooper, Jr. & Co., Winona, MN - 1919 [page 151] ANDREW McDONOUGH, a prominent farmer and large land owner of Maxville township, Buffalo county, was born in section 18, this township, Jan. 4, 1863, son of BARNEY and MARGARET (MORRISEY) McDONOUGH. He has always resided on the parental homestead, which became his property in 1896. In 1906 MR. Mc- DONOUGH built a nice brick residence, having previously, in 1901, erected a fine barn, 40 by 100 feet, with stone basement, and a good silo. He raises a good grade of Hereford cattle, Percheron horses and Poland-China hogs, in which branch of farming industry he is doing a profitable business, and is also a stockholder in the Burnside creamery and a member of its official board. He gives considerable attention to dairying and belongs to the Farmers' Equity Association, of which he has been an officer. In early days his father hauled pork to Eau Claire with an ox team, taking three days to make the trip, which MR. McDONOUGH now makes in a few hours with his auto- mobile. MR. McDONOUGH was married, in 1888, to MARY POWERS, who was born in Maxville township, daughter of MORRIS and MARY POWERS, and of this union three children were born: JESSIE, MARIETTA and LUCILLE. MRS. McDONOUGH died Aug. 19, 1917. ===========================================================================
