When he was four years of age, his parents emigrated to America, and settled in Waukesha County: seven years later they removed to this county, and located in the Town Cross. He enlisted in Co. H, 6th Wis. Inf., in 1861, and was discharged on the 16th of July, 1864. He married MARY BAERTSCH, a native of Illinois. They have five children - EDWARD, MARY, ISABELLA, ANDREW and ALICE. ===========================================================================
