         M. T. BUTLER, saloon keeper, Alma, was born in Nova Scotia,
       July 12, 1845; came to the United States in 1868, and settled 
       in the State of Maine, and was in the employ of a lumber com-
       pany one year. In 1871, he came to Wisconsin and settled in 
       Eau Claire, and was engaged in lumbering. In 1877, he came to 
       Alma and engaged in his present business.
