H. C. Cooper, Jr. & Co., Winona, MN - 1919 [page 390] EDWARD ARMS, proprietor of "The Old Homestead," a fine stock and dairy farm in Cross township, Buffalo county, was born in a log house on this farm, July 17, 1890, son of ANDREAS and MARY (HUBNER) ARMS. He attended the public schools and grew to manhood on his parents' farm, receiving a thorough practical agricultural training under his father, who was the pioneer and founder of the family in this county. In order to better qualify himself for modern scientific farming, in the fall of 1908 he entered the agricultural department of the State Uni- versity at Madison, and was graduated with his class from that department in 1910. Thus prepared, in October, 1916, he pur- chased the home farm, on which he has made many changes and improvements. As a general farmer and stock raiser he is doing a successful business, breeding Holstein cattle of good grade. He is a member of the Equity Shipping Association, and is a citizen widely known and respected. MR.
