KITCHEN, wife of CHAS. KITCHEN, Esq., who died at her residence on Thursday last, the 28th inst. Her health had been declining for some weeks; but she was not supposed in danger until the day before her de- cease. MRS. CHARLOTTE KITCHEN was a native of Germany, born at Shoresberg, Kingdom of Wirtemburg, on the 25th of August, 1841. Came out to this coun- try in 1848 to join her brothers and sisters, of the BREUNINGER family, who had preceeded her a few years. She was married to CHAS. KITCHEN, Esq., on the 9th of October, 1849, having lived in our city 28 years, and being at her death, in the 53rd year of her age. Of retiring and unobtrusive manners, her truly excellent character was known only to her near acquaintances. It was in her home, around the family alter, that her virtues were chiefly resplendant; and to those who really knew her, did she appear at all times and under all circumstances the faithful wife and patient Christian mother. Her death has filled her house with mourning. She leaves a disconsolate husband, who indeed and in truth refuses to be comforted, and with him remain her six surviving children - two sons and three daughters - (one 19 years old having gone to her rest a year since) whose only consolation is the sweet memory of her vir- tues and her shining christian example. These will cherish her memory, and commend her instructions, while life with them shall last. Her funeral was had from Christ Church, on Sunday last. The immense concourse of people of all classes in attendance, bore silent, but abiding witness to the esti- mation in which she was held, to her real worth and the loss we sustain in her death. *Transcriber's Note: Her birth year is exactly as it appears in the newspaper and is not a typo. ===========================================================================
