Fifty years ago that day he was married in Boston, Mass., to MISS ELIZA GILLIPSIE and on their golden wedding day they gathered about them seven children, twenty-one grand- children and one great grand child, which have been given to them during these years. All, save the fam- ily of one son, SAMUEL JEFFORDS, who resides in Cali- fornia, and a brother of MRS. JEFFORDS, J. M. GILLIP- SIE, Esq., of Boston, were present as were also REV. L. CLARK and wife of Washington, by a special invita- tion. There was no occasion for the Reverend gentle- man's professional services, for the knot that had held so long and so well, MRS. J. decided it needed no splicing. The aged couple were made glad on that occasion, not only by the presence of so many of their children and grand-children, but by many sub- stantial tokens of remembrance and affection. There was also a purse of $65 in gold, and many handsome and valuable presents from different members of the family circle. In giving, the donors were blessed, the bonds of family affections strengthened, and in memory there was the record of a day which will ever be recalled with pleasure. ================================================================================
