He had been in poor health for several years. His funeral was held at his home Saturday afternoon. Rev. G. E. Cady officiated. MR. BENJAMIN leaves a wife, one son and a daughter to mourn the loss of a kind hus- band and father. Early Monday morning the sad news reached town of the death of EDWARD S. HOWARD, who had died in Albany, N.Y., the day previous. MR. HOWARD went to the hospital in Albany about three weeks ago to have his hip operated upon. The operation took place two weeks ago last Monday, which has re- sulted in his death. His remains reached Fair Haven Monday evening and were met by several of his friends who accompanied them to his late home. In the death of MR. HOWARD Benson loses one of its best citizens. An occount (sic) of the funeral will be given next week. ------------------------------------------------ Bridport Sun Thursday, 10 October 1901 The funeral of EDWARD S. HOWARD was held at his home Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 2d, at 1:30 o'clock, and was largely attended. None of MR. HOWARD'S near relatives were present. Dr. Smart of Brandon officiated and made very fitting remarks. The interment was in the old cemetery. ================================================================================
