H. S. WITHERELL Bridport - Private services for MRS. HERMAN S. WITHERELL were held at her late home Monday afternoon, Rev. L. C. Turner, pastor of the Congregational Church, officiating. Burial was in Central Cemetery, Bridport. The bearers were KENNETH MYRICK, GORDON NADEAU, GEORGE BARNES, LINUS PAYNE and CLIFTON BROWNE of Bridport, and LUCIUS NISUN of Middle- bury. MRS. WITHERELL died Friday morning 11 o'clock after a lingering illness, at the age of 76. She was born in Shohomish, Wash., Dec. 14, 1872, the daughter of MYRON W. and CYNTHIA A. (FLINT) PACKARD. As a young child she went to Madrid, N.Y., to live with an uncle and aunt. She was graduated from Potsdam Con- servatory of Music where she special- ized in piano under Prof. Hawthorne, a native of New Haven. She married MR. WITHERELL on June 29, 1989*, and the couple quietly celebrated their 50th anniversay last June. Besides her husband, she leaves two daughters, MISS CYNTHIA WITHERELL, R. N., nurse at Middlebury College, and MISS ELIZABETH WITHERELL, at home in Bridport; one son, JOHN H. WITHERELL of Middlebury, associated with the National Bank.
