Had he lived until Feb. 22 he would have been 89 years old. MR. ORVIS was a very bright, cheerful, sympathetic man. A man appociated (sic) by his townsmen. He represented this town at the legislature one term, and was a man of unusual good health, having never called a physician for himself but once in his long life time and that was when his shoulder was dislocated. In his last illness a phy- sician was called to see him but MR. ORVIS, being deaf and blind, was not aware of the doctor's call. His funeral was held at the Friends' church, Monday, Jan. 20th, at 2 p.m., Rev. E. J. Meader officiating. =============================================================================
