Paralysis of a severe nature, which took effect in a series of shocks, was the cause of his death. The trouble dated back to 1894. A family survives him, one daughter, MRS. GEORGE KINGMAN of this city; one grandson, ARTHUR B. KINGMAN of Burlington; one grand- daughter, MISS BERTHA H. KINGMAN of Vergennes, and one sister, MRS. JAMES MULTHROP of Stoughton, Cal. The deceased was born in Ferrisburg, Feb. 1, 1823, and his early life was spent in that town and in this city. He made two trips to California during the gold excitement in that state, com- mencing in 1849. About 1851 he returned to Ver- gennes, having been fairly successful in his mining operations, since which time he has re- sided there. For 13 years MR. FISH was street commissioner, during which time he also had charge of the cemeteries. He was a member of the Methodist church of Vergennes, having joined it about 35 years ago. The funeral services were held at his late residence Sunday, Rev. Charles Worrick preach- ing the funeral sermon. The hymns selected were sung by the Methodist church choir. The bearers were ANDREW ROSS, C. T. S. PIERCE, G. F. O. KIMBALL, and E. J. BRISTOL. Burial was made in Prospect cemetery. ===============================================================================
