WITHERELL MISS HELEN MYRTIE KENT, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. DUANE E. KENT of Rutland, and SANFORD STOWELL WITHERELL, son of Mr. and Mrs. CHARLES LESLIE WITHERELL of Shoreham were married Saturday after- noon at the KENT residence in Rutland by Rev. J. Graydon Brown. The ceremony took place in front of an altar constructed of evergreen dot- ted with white chrysanthemums. Green and white was the motif of the decor- ations in all the rooms. The bride wore white brocaded taf- feta with a shoulder veil and carried a shower bouquet of white roses. Mrs. FRANK W. WICKS of Maywood, N. J., sister of the bride, served as matron of honor and wore a gown of rust bro- caded taffeta and carried Talisman roses. BARBARA ANNE WICKS, little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. FRANK W. WICKS, was train bearer. The best man was STUART T. WITHERELL of Cornwall, brother of the bridegroom. Mrs. VERNON J. LOVELAND played the wedding march and Mrs. WARREN G. GOOD- RICH sang "I Love You Truly". The bride was given in marriage by her father. The ceremony, which was attended by members of the two families and inti- mate friends, was followed by a recep- tion at the house. Mrs. KENT and Mrs. WITHERELL, mothers of the couple, assisted in receiving and refreshments were served by Mrs. STUART T. WITHERELL of Cornwall, Mrs. SANFORD LANE, JR., of Middlebury, Miss BETTY LANE of Darien, Conn., and Mrs. ROBERT MARTIN of Spring- field, Mass. Mr. and Mrs. WITHERELL will spend their honeymoon touring in the south and middle west and after December 1 will be at home at the WITHERELL Homestead in Shoreham. The bride was graduated from Rutland High school in 1924, attended Skidmore College at Saratoga, N.Y., for two years and graduated in 1929 from Beaver College in Jenkintown, Pa., where she majored in Kindergarten and nursery school work. For the past two years she has been director of the Rutland nursery school sponsored by the American Association of University Women. Mr. WITHERELL was graduated from Middle- bury College in the class of 1930 and is a member of Delta Upsilon and Pi Delta Epsilon fraternities. He is now associated with Belmont Orchards in Shoreham. Out-of-town guests at the wedding in- cluded, besides the bridegroom's parents, Mrs. STUART T. WITHERELL and children, NANCY and CHARLES; Mrs. CHARLES H. LANE, Mrs. W. H. BINGHAM, MAURICE A.
