T. WHITE at Turtle Bayou, in Chambers county. Death occurred last night, and it is expected that the funeral will be held at Taylor's Bayou tomorrow. The deceased was about 70 years old and was one of the most promi- nent and wealthy citizens of Chambers county. He owned large tracts of grazing lands and thousands of head of cattle in Chambers and adjoining counties. He is survived by three sons and two daughters, namely: R. M. WHITE of Stowell, T. J. WHITE of Turtle Bayou, FOREST WHITE of White's Ranch, MRS. MANDY SMITH of Waco, and MRS. JOSEPHINE McNULTY, wife of B. F. Mc- NULTY, formerly superintendent of the insane asylum at Austin. CAPTAIN WHITE was well known and highly respected by the people of Liberty county. The writer had known him for many years. He was a genial, kind-hearted, charitable gentleman - honorable in his dealings - ever acting "upon the square" with his fellow man. He was a Mason, for many years a member of Liberty Lodge, No. 48, and it being his request that he be buried by his parent lodge (with which he had always affiliated) R. C. Eubank, W. M. accompanied by a number of members of this lodge, left for Chambers county Tuesday after- noon about 5 o'clock to perform the last sad duty to their departed brother. ===============================================================================
