DANIEL B. WALLIS, county surveyor of Chambers county, died at his residence on East bay, in that county, Sunday, the 17th instant, at 1 o'clock a.m., aged 58 years. MR. WALLIS was born in the portion of Liberty county that was subsequently embraced in Chambers county, and was a resi- dent of the latter county from the time of its organization until his death. He was justly popular with all who knew him, and held several responsible offices by favor of the people of his county. He served through the war as a mem- ber of De Bray's regiment, and was with his command in several engagements in Louisiana. He was a true and useful man in every relation of life, and in his death his county loses a faithful public servant. ===============================================================================
