         Died.
         
         COOLEY. - At his home near Whiteaker, Friday,
       December 21, 1894, of dropsy, J. H. COOLEY, aged
       about 60 years.
         Deceased leaves a wife and eight children - five
       boys and three girls - to mourn his demise. He
       came to Oregon in 1845, crossing the plains with
       his parents, who settled in the northern portion
       of Marion county. His remains will be buried Sun-
       day at Union Hill cemetery near Whiteaker.
