George emigrated to America and settled in Baltimore, where he was apprenticed to and learned the baker and confectioner business. After a short residence in Cincinnati he settled in Napoleon and established his present bakery, confectionery and ice cream business, in 1880. He was married in 1882 to Lydia Roser, who was born in Switzerland, a daughter of John Jacob Roser. They have had a family of three children: Sarah, Mary, Louis. Four of George's brothers and sisters came to Napoleon and are now living: Amelia, Lena, George F. and Louis. ==========================================================================
