June 26, 1844 OBITUARY - DIED - On Monday afternoon, the 24th inst., Mrs. NANCY MAHOOD, in teh 25th year of her age. The demise of this excellent lady has caused a deep gloom to pervade our community. Reared in our midst, she had a wide circle of warm friends, to whom she was endeared by her amiable disposi- tion and her kindness of heart; and we may truly say. "None knew her but to love her, None nam'd her but to praise." She was confined to her bed but a few days, but her suffering during that time was most excru- ciating. We deeply sympathize with her friends on account of their irreparable loss; but what is their loss, will be her eternal gain. She died as the christain dieth, full of hope, and passed from the troublous scenes of this life to a purer and holier clime. "Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord." ===========================================================================
