REBECCA TALBOTT died at the home of her daughter, MRS. JOHN C. BECKETT, South 11th street, Cambridge, O., Tuesday, March 8, 1904. She was almost 87 years old, her birthday being May 24. Her maiden name was DAVENPORT, a daughter of JOHN and MARTHA DAVENPORT, highly respected former citizens of Barnesville. The girl REBECCA received a liberal education in the once renowned Marietta Female college, became an excellent scholar, specially gifted in natural history and botany and during her long life was a worthy and enthusiastic patron of education. She was united in marriage with W. A. TALBOTT October 14, 1854. To them were born twelve children, two died in infancy, and the oldest son, JOHN D. TALBOTT, died in Barnesville in 1902. The surviving children are MRS. W. L. WALTON, New York City; MRS. M. E. FRAZIER and GEORGE A. TALBOTT, Urbana, O.; W. A. TALBOTT, Barnesville; CHARLES TALBOTT, Redding, California; MRS. J. C. BECKETT, Cambridge; MRS. C. M. LLOYD, Columbus; DR. B. F. TALBOTT, St. Clairsville, and W. R. TALBOTT, Akron, Ohio. She was born near Winchester, Va., and came with her parents to Ohio when four years of age. She resided all her life in Barnesville, except a few years residence in Batesville, O. For seventy-five years she was a member of the M. E. church and always an active, working christian, leaving behind her a well spent, useful life, full of good deeds and christian charity. Her husband died at a ripe old age in 1897. Funeral services were held at the home of MR. BECKETT Wednesday at 12:30 conducted by Rev. Mr. Winters, of the M. E. church. The body, accompanied by the relatives and friends, was taken to Barnesville at 2 o'clock, where services were held conducted by her pastor, Rev. Dr. Oliver, assisted by others of the city, on Thursday and interment made in the family bury- ing ground in the Barnesville cemetery. ===============================================================================
