REBECCA T. KERR died at the home of her daughter, MRS. R. B. EVANS in Ft. Wayne, Ind., at 7:30 p.m., June 4th, 1906, aged 85 years, 8 months and 28 days. REBECCA TALBOTT was born in Jefferson county, Ohio, Sept. 6th, 1820, was the eldest child of ALLEN and MARY TALBOTT and came with them to Crawford county in 1827, where they settled on the old TALBOTT homestead one mile south of town. Here she spent her earlier years and re- ceived her education in the district schools and was mar- ried in May 1853 to FREDERICK SPEELMAN and then made her home in Crestline. To this union five children were born two daughters dying in early youth, one Dec. 1863 and one January 1864, the surviving children are A. T. SPEELMAN, a postal clerk living in town, a daughter MRS. R. B. EVANS, of Ft. Wayne, Ind., with whom she has made her home during the past few years, one son GEORGE whose present residence is unknown is supposed to be living. MR. SPEELMAN preceeded, her Sept. 17, 1863, nearly 43 years ago. August 27th 1867 she was again joined in mar- riage. Her second husband being DAVID KERR and for twelve years they were engaged in farming about Crestline. In 1879 they moved to Larwill, Ind., near which place their lives were happily passed on a farm, until each growing old and feeble and unable to care for themselves or each other. Both having children by a first marriage only, they were cared for by them in their declining years, she by a daughter and he by a son. MR. KERR is still living at Larwell, Ind., in his 96th year. MRS. KERR in youth was a member of the society of friends to which her parents belonged, but afterwards she affili- ated with the M. E. church of which she has been a faith- ful and consistant member to the day of her death. MRS. KERR was highly esteemed by all who knew her as a sincere christian, a kind and loving mother, a faithful wife, whose life was one of usefulness. The body was brought here to the home of her son, A. T. SPEELMAN on Wednesday afternoon where services will be conducted today (Thursday) at 1:30 o'clock, Rev. J. W. Dowds, officiating. Interment in TALBOTT cemetery, the family burial place. ===============================================================================
