He was united in marriage with Miss CELESTA NAZOR, Dec. 24, 1867. To them were born six sons and six daughters, all of whom survive him except one son, who died in infancy. He was admitted to membership in the English Lutheran church of Galion, Ohio, on May 31, 1891. He died Feb. 5, 1895, at the age of 46 years, 5 months and 12 days. He had been a railroad employe for about fourteen years, the last ten years of which time he had been an engineer. He left his house on the evening preceding his death, and hauled his train to the end of his run which was Kent, where he arrived at about six o'clock in the morning, and in stepping from his own engine, he was struck by another, which by him had been unnoticed, and in an instant his body was a lifeless, mangled mass and his "spirit had returned to the God who gave it." The funeral services were held at the English Lutheran church in the afternoon of Feb. 7, conducted by the writer. The text upon which a brief discourse was based is Amos 8:9: "I will cause the sun to go down at noon, and I will darken the earth in the clear day." Rev. BADGLEY, of the M. E. church, as sisted in the services. The interment took place in Fairview cemetery. By this sad occurrence we are again taught the lesson "In the midst of life we are in death," and the importance "So to number our days as to apply our hearts unto wisdom" M. COLVER, Pastor. Galion, Feb. 8, 1895 =========================================================================
