Last Will & Testament
         of
ELI QUAINTANCE

              I ELI QUAINTANCE being of sound mind and usual memory do make
           this my last will and testament in form and manner following.

              Item 1st My mind and will is that my dear wife have the use
           of all my real Estate while she remains my widow and that she
           raise and educate my four minor children Viz ANN, RACHEL, CALEB
           and CHARLES, but in case of her deth or marriage the guardian of
           the above named children do make use of the proceds of the pro-
           perty to their benefit until they arive at lawful age and that
           when the youngest one arives at lawful age my real Estate be
           sold and the proceeds be equally divided among all my heirs.

              Item 2nd My mind and will is that they one hundred dollars
           that is coming from WILLIAM WHITE go towards paying my debts and
           that enough of my personal property be made use of to pay all
           the remainder of my debts, and the residue I wwill and bequeath
           to my dear wife to make use of as she shall think proper.

              Item 3rd I hereby nominate and appoint my dear wife BETTY
           QUAINTANCE Guardian to my four minor Children, Viz ANN, RACHEL,
           CALEB and CHARLES.

              Item 4th I hereby nominate and appoint my son LOUIS C.
           QUAINTANCE my executor to carry this my last will into effect.

              In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this 4th day
           of the 10th month in the Year of our Lord one thousand Eight
           hundred and forty.

                            We ELI * QUAINTANCE and SARAH QUAINTANCE do
           solemnly and sincerely declaire and affirm that we saw ELI
           QUAINTANCE sign his last will and testament now to us in open
           Court shown that we signed the same as witnesses in his presence
           and at his request and that at the time of signing the same the
           said ELI QUAINTANCE was of sound mind and memory and acting
           under no restraint.
