Cotton I, Willard H. Cotton, residing in the town and village of Salem, in the County of Washington and State of New York, do hereby make, publish and declare this to be my last Will and Testament in form and manner following, that is to say; FIRST: I do hereby direct, and it is my will, that my Executor and Executrix hereinafter named and appointed, shall pay all of my just debts and funeral expenses as soon after my decease as they shall find convenient. SECOND: I hereby give and bequeath to my young friend, Miss Lucille N. Carswell, residing with her Father, Mr. Frederick Carswell, at the village of Whitehall, in the County of Wash- ington and State of New York, the sum of Three hundred ($300.00) dollars in cash; and I also give and bequeath to her, said Miss. Lucille N. Carswell, all of my Bed-room Fur- niture, together with all of the Bedding that I own and all of my pictures, to belong to her and to be hers absolutely. THIRD: I give and bequeath to Mrs. Eliza Perrin, the Widow of my late Nephew, Franklin Perrin, deceased, residing at the Village of Malone, in the State of New York, the sum of One hundred ($100.00) dollars, to belong to her and to be hers absolutely. FOURTH: All of the rest, residue and remainder of my proper- ty and estate, after the payment of the debts and funeral ex- penses and the two legacies herinbefore mentioned, of what- soever kind or description, I give and bequeath to my Nephews and Neices whose names and places of residence are in this Paragraph set down and stated, to be divided equally among them, share and share alike, Viz. William Cotton, residing at the Village of Salem, County of Washington and State of New York, and Mrs. Della Cotton Letteridge, residing at the Village of Valley Falls, County of Rensselaer and State of New York; those two being the living children of my Brother, Zina Cotton, now deceased: Mrs. Frances Cotton Rogers, re- siding , when I last knew about her, at the City of San Fran- cisco, in the State of California, if she be now living, the Daughter of my Brother, Norman E. Cotton, now deceased; Mrs. Clara Ojers Creek, residing at the Village of Castile, in the County of Wyoming and State of New York, the Daughter of my Sister, Mrs. Mary C. Ojers, now deceased: Mrs. Clara Cotton Bennett, residing at the City of Elmira, in the State of New York, the Daughter of my Brother, William Cotton, now deceased: Frederick Perrin, residing at Whippleville, in the County of Franklin and State of New York, and Miss Mamie Perrin, residing at the Village of Malone, in the State of New York, the last two named being the children of my Nephew, Franklin Perrin, now deceased. All of the rest, residue and remainder of my property and estate, after the payment of debts and funeral expenses and the two legacies hereinbefore mentioned, shall be divided equally among the seven (7) Nephews and Neices hereinbefore named, share and share alike, to belong to them and to be theirs absolutely; except as to my Neice above named, Mrs. Frances Cotton Rogers, if it shall be ascertained that she be not living at the date of my decease, then and that case her share in the remainder of my property and estate shall be given and bequeathed as is hereinafter provided in the Fifth Paragraph of this my last Will and Testament. FIFTH: If it shall be ascertained after my decease by my Executor and Executrix hereinafter named and appointed, that my Neice, Mrs. Frances Cotton Rogers, named in the Fourth Paragraph of this my last will and testament, is dead (and I have not heard from her or about her for several years past) then and in that case I give and bequeath her share in the remainder of my said property and estate, and the whole of it, to the Rector, Wardens and Vestry of St. Paul's Episcopal Church of Salem, New York, to be used and expended for the support, maintenance and repairs of the Pipe Organ of the said Church. LIKEWISE I do hereby nominate, constitute and appoint my Nephew aforesaid, William Cotton, of the Village of Salem, County of Washington and State of New York, to be the Executor, and my Neice aforesaid, Mrs. Clara Cotton Bennett, of the City of Elmira and State of New York, to be the Executrix of this my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking all former wills by me made. IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto written my name on this Twenty third day of October, in the year One thousand nine hundred and thirteen. WILLARD H. COTTON, of the Town and Village of Salem, in the County of Washington and State of New York, do hereby make, publish and declare this as a Codicil to my last Will and Testament made on the Twenty third day of October, in the year One thousand nine hundred and thirteen; said Codicil being in form and manner as follows, that is to say; FIRST, I give and bequeath to my Neice, Mrs. Clara Cotton Bennett, wife of Burrus L. Bennett, of No. 345 Irving Place, Elmira, New York, my House-hold furniture and my Mahogany Cabinet, to belong to her and to be hers absolutely. IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto written my name on this Fifth day of August, in the year One thousand nine hundred and fourteen. WILLARD H.
