A tug had arrived to tow her out and MR. F. N. EDWARDS, first mate of the vessel, was on the forecastle giving orders to the crew about the lines, when in some manner he missed his footing and fell into the river. He was not seen by any one on board his own craft, but persons who were passing on the propeller Gor- don Campbell, witnessing the fall, immediately gave the alarm. Every exertion was made to save the unfortunate man, but without success. He had sank to rise no more. The captain of the Moore gave orders soon after for the vessel to proceed, and the task of finding the body of the mate was left to the police of Milwaukee. On Sunday, officers Hapler and Coulter dragged the river during the entire day, but as yet no traces have been found of the missing man. EDWARDS resided in Buffalo, where his wife and one child are living. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Buffalo Express Thursday, 16 October, 1873 The body of F.
