CONRAN has shocked and grieved a large circle of friends. MR. CONRAN was stricken Saturday, July 30th, at the Buffalo Gas Company plant, where he was employed as engineer. His daughter, MRS. FREDERICK JUENGERT, was notified by his fellow workers who had summoned a doctor, and barely had a priest, whom she had hurriedly reached at St. Anthony's rectory, admini- stered the last rites of the church, when he died. This special favor was doubtless the reward of having spent an upright life. MR. CONRAN was highly respected by his employers and fellow workers of the gas company, while in private life he was a devoted husband and father. MR. CONRAN is survived by his wife and two daughters, SISTER MARY BERCHMANS of the Sisters of Mercy and MRS. FREDERICK JUENGERT. The solemn funeral mass was celebrated at St. Teresa's Church by Father Ryan, assisted by Father Fitzhenry and Father Hogan. Rev. A. Hartigan, D.D. Rev. William Tobin, Rev. F. O'Neil, Rev. Joseph McGuire and Rev. Hugh Wright were in the sanctuary. Father Hartigan and Father Wright conducted the services at the grave. The friends who carried the casket were James Murphy, Bernard McQuaide, Stephen Griffin, Jacob Eno, Charles Bray and Charles Manning. Burial was at Pine Hill, and among the large number of sympathizers who accompanied the dead to its last resting place were a group of Sisters of Mercy and the following from Auburn, N.Y.; Mrs. O'Brien, Mr. Dillion, William Collins, Miss C. Collins, Mrs. T. Poole, Miss C. O'Brien, Miss A. Courney. MR. CONRAN was born at Scipio, N.Y., 54 years ago and had lived in Buffalo the last 18 years. May the soul of this good husband, father and citizen enjoy happy and eternal rest. ===========================================================================
