         The many friends of MICHAEL CARROLL, former engineer
       of the propeller Oneida, will learn with sorrow that he
       died in this city at the residence of MR. JAMES NASH,
       corner of Maryland and Fifth streets, on Saturday last.
       MR. CARROLL was a skillful engineer and a man whose
       social qualities won for him a decided popularity.
