        JAMES PLATT WHITE, second son of JAMES PENFIELD WHITE, was born in
     Buffalo December 22, 1878. He was educated at Harvard and was one of
     the editors of the Harvard Monthly, winning for himself a high place
     in college journalism.  Mr. WHITE is a man of brilliant qualities, of
     intellectual tastes, and a linguist of unusual acquirements. He is
     devoting himself to a literary career, being well-known in the field
     of dramatic literature.
