WHITFIELD, an old resident of Sciptio, died at his home Wednesday afternoon at the age of 70 years, after an illness of two months. MR. WHIT- FIELD as a son of CAPTAIN GEORGE WHITFIELD, an old seaman and whaler. The house in which he lived in Scipio contains some curious relics of early sea- faring days. Besides a wife and one daughter de- ceased leaves a sister, MRS. CHARLES GOODRICH, of Rochester, and a brother, CHARLES T. WHITFIELD, of Weedsport. The funeral services will be held at the Universalist Church in Scipio Center this afternoon. Burial will be in the Scipio Cemetery. ===========================================================================
