MARY McDERMOTT BURNS, age 91, widow of GEORGE DANIEL BURNS, of 35 Frazee Street, Auburn, died Thursday, April 1, at Mercy Hospital follow- ing a long illness. Born in Scipio, MRS. BURNS was the daughter of the late PATRICK and ANNA B. WALSH McDERMOTT. She had been a resident of Auburn most of her life. A retired housekeeper, she was formerly employed by the Correction Department at the Warden's home on South Street. MRS. BURNS was a communicant of St. Aloysius Church and was affiliated with the Rosary Society. She was a member of the Third Order of Franciscans, the Senior Citizens of Auburn, and of the Farm Bureau. Surviving are two daughters, MRS. EDMUND (FLORENCE) LOBER and MRS. GEORGE (GERTRUDE) MAY, both of Auburn. A son, WALTER A. BURNS of Auburn, died February 13, and a grandson, FRANCIS LARKIN of California, died March 22nd of this year. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren, 21 great- grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Services were held on Monday at the Farrell Funeral Home in Auburn at 9 a.m. and the Rev. Edward A. Sh*mon offered the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment was in St. Joseph's Cemetery. ===========================================================================
