Tuesday, 26 February, 1929

         The funeral of WILLIAM BOWNESS was held at his
       late home in Scipio Center at 9:30 o'clock Satur-
       day morning and one-half hour later in St. Bernard's
       Church, where a solemn requiem high mass was offered,
       Rev. Edward J. Lyons, pastor, being the celebrant;
       Rev. F. T. Moffett of Moravia, deacon, and Rev.
       Thomas O'Connor of Groton, sub-deacon. Committal
       services were conducted by the pastor. There were
       many offerings of mass cards and floral pieces and
       the rites were largely attended. The pallbearers
       were Thomas Neville, Andrew Neville, William A.
       Neville, William Bowness, Walter Bowness and Daniel
       O'Herron. Interment was in St. Bernard's Cemetery.
